Research

In line with its teaching, research at the École Nationale des Chartes - PSL looks at the written word in all forms, from ancient texts and documents to contemporary digital writing, including visual and audiovisual media and sources, in view of understanding, preserving, and passing on these materials.

The Centre Jean-Mabillon

The School has its own research laboratory (EA 3624), the Centre Jean-Mabillon, a major player in French research. It embodies the collective, interdisciplinary, and international dimension of research activities in the field of ­historical and philological sciences as taught at the School.

The Researchers

The School's research team, the Centre Jean-Mabillon (EA 3624), has around one hundred researchers, including forty doctoral students and an equal number of curators.

Resources

The ChartExplore engine can be used to search all the library's documentary resources: printed works, online journals and ebooks, databases, the HAL-ENC institutional portal, Calames-ENC, and the digital library (includingThENC@).

The School also producesa wide range of resources: theses, printed editions, digital applications and videos.
